The Mother-Toddler Club is a place for mother and child to sing, dance and play together. At RAAN, the mothers are able to concentrate on and enjoy special bonding time with their child. It is a universal truth that the mother has the biggest influence on her child’s emotional and intellectual development. Since a mother-child bond is the first and foremost bond formed, the child easily accepts the learning that comes through his mother. Most importantly, it is not a school.
Toddlers are rapidly acquiring physical, social, reasoning, creative and language skills but these skills need a lot of practice where Mother Toddler Program plays a key role. The sessions are specially designed to encourage the exploratory side in toddlers and provide multisensory stimulation through visual, auditory and kinesthetic (touch based) programs. Each session is carefully monitored to maintain safety standards and to allow individual toddlers to achieve their maximum potential.
During that time, a nurturing space for the children is created with free-play, circle-time, while also guiding the parents in activities. This allows the children to gain confidence in socializing with others while still in the presence of their parents. The songs, rhymes, and games learned by the children can be shared at home especially when there is a mom who has learned them too.
Our program is based on supporting the child’s need to explore. The Facilitators will plan activities and help shape the environment in order to provide a rich atmosphere in which the children can play and discover. The facilitators are also available as a resource for the children and their parents or care givers.
How is it different from a school?
It is true that the programs have a thorough scientific basis and are carefully designed to stimulate the child’s brain development. But there is neither a rigid format nor any pressure on the child to perform or conform. The results are manifested automatically while the mother and child simply have a wonderful time together.
What is the duration of a course?
Each course has duration of 6 months. There are 2 sessions every week. Every session is of one and a half hour.
How is a child’s interest engaged?
Once a mother and child join the club, the next 18 months will all have unique plans. Every month has a central theme around which the classes are woven. The sessions consist of a variety of short, bite-sized activities that focus on stimulating multiple intelligences of the child.
The Parents Role Mother Toddler is the joy of being totally with your child, giving the best to your child and becoming a child yourself. The parental role in our program is vital. Parents are asked to encourage and support the child’s interest in all activities. Parents will come to RAAN twice a week for 1 ½ hrs. The parent would stay with the child and interact with the child in whatever activity he/she may choose. Parents would also sit with the child and participate in group time.
